More to religion
than pleasing
your imaginary friend

Those of you who are computer geeks know that Unix shells (command line interfaces) feature the command "who" which returns a list of currently logged in users. They also feature the more existential "who am i" which returns the username and machine id (useful when you are running several shells, each logged in to a different system).

In that spirit, and to lampoon the way people tend to believe what computers tell them, I created the "why" command to answer life's toughest question. Below is my remake for the web. Each time you click the button an answer will be drawn pseudo-randomly from a fairly extensive list.

Don't ask questions, just do it.
